I picked up $100 in dimes from the bank today - instead of paper-wrapped dimes, i got 20 hard clear plastic tubes with screw on tops. I consider that a bonus! They all had stickers with years written on them, and i could see it was all 1970s and later, so i didn't get my hopes up. None of the tubes actually contained the dates that were labeled anyways, but still there was no silver to be found.

So now i have 20 nice tubes with the labels peeled off, and my goal is to fill them all with silver by Dec 31, 2012. So far i'm 13 dimes into the first tube. Wish me luck!!

Can't beat that! Not often you find decent tubes like that.

good luck! at first i misread your post and thought Dec 31st of this year....he's nuts lol !!

but then I did a double take and saw 2012. You should be able to do that, if you can average 2 per box you gotta get through $125,000 in dimes to get there, 33.33 ($250) boxes per month.

I got excited yesterday when the bank had a nice half tube...but said, "you can buy the halves, but we keep the tube".

What a let down!!!!
