People down the road moved a 100 year old log cabin.I went there and looked for anything.I found alot of old bottles.I think i am going to m/d there.Should be some old coins there.
A friend and I used to dig old bottles out of the side banks of a creek in Indianapolis. Then after it rained his father would walk the banks and find old coins that we dislodged and they would wash out onto the edge of the bank. That was how we all got started with metal detecting. One day when we got home from bottle digging he told us "I want to show you what I've found that you left behind" and he pulled out a nice bag of old coins mostly Indian Heads. I said it would be nice to have a metal detector and the next week he had one of the old White's Coinmaster which at that time was new. After a few weeks my friend and I both had gotten detectors as well. My first one was the old Metrotech. I hate to think of the things I'd have found with a bit more higher end detector at that time (around 1968-1969) I did eventually end with with a coinmaster but my friends dad hit most of the spots before we did. I didn't matter back then though there were lots of interesting things to be found.
