I actualy got out twice but the other hunt was not great . I did manage to find another cutlass handle,2 ships spikes,2 iron what is its,a half pound of sinkers, fishing lures,and alot of barbed wire.

Those are nice finds. Being's that you are in Ohio, have you ever detected Presque Isle? If so, did you ever find anything interesting? PP
 
there used to be a farm in the area. the farmer needed to keep his cows from doing an end around on his fences so he fenced off into the lake. it is both a curse and a blessing, cursed since I've dug miles of this stuff , he must have replaced it several times over the years. and a blessing since most folks wouldn't go near it saving alot of goodies for me.
 
I'm sorry, what's a cutlas handle? I like those old spikes! :icon_thumleft:
 
the piece in between the sinkers and the spikes. it has a nut on the top that held the steel grip and hand protector in place. cutlasses were short swords used on ships as weapons so they could fight around all the rigging,cannons,and enclosed areas.
