Picked up $130 today and found

1 = 40%
2 = 90% JFK

Not much but I was very happy. This bank usually has around $100 rolled at a time but I messed up and took $600 back to them before I realised that they roll their own coin instead of sending it back to the reserve. This shows that I finally got through all of those dry rolls of presearched silver. ;D

Ended up with about $250 in halves on the rest of my trip and found 6 = 40% and 3 foreign coins

1 PISO from REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS 1990
$500 from ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS 1988
L.100 REPVBBLICA ITLIANA 1970

Also went through my grandmas change while I was there for the holidays. She had a zipper type bank bag full of halves, Ikes, & SBA. Found
15 = 40%
1 = 90% JFK
I told her I would sell them next time I sell mine and take her the money. Wish I could have went through my grandpas change before they cashed them in. He saved his change for years and had dozens of 5 lbs coffee cans sorted by denomination, probably a couple thousand in change.

That would have been fun to search thru! Without coffee cans where would people hoard coins? Good going on your silver finds.

Re: 11-27-06

A 500-dollar coin? Or maybe 500 Pesos? Is it a solid ounce of gold?
;)

Nope it says $500. It's not gold (I should be so lucky ::)). I doubt its worth much American. Does anybody know?

Congratulations,

God yeah, that would sure be awesome to find some peps that have saved coinage for many years. Saved just to save and are going to turn into banks anyways. I would give em more than face value of course, but WOW that would be very nice.

Wowsa...that coin is one of the most bizarre I have ever seen! Ahhh...according to the blurb at the bay site they switched to Nuevo Pesos (N$) which obviously means that the dollar sign stands for a peso. So it is a 500 peso coin.

Neat find though....highly unusual.

Here's your coin.
