Finally joined the 100 coin-in-day elite membership club which requires an annual re-commitment. Two parks. Started at 6AM on Saturday, May 19th with one goal on my mind... 100+. 121 is my personal best but minor consequences did result...

(1) My 6" coil was damaged (only the outside housing, circuitry remains intact, I continued MD'ing..) Note: I used crazy glue to piece the cover back into place. The coil was damaged by a dropped Lesche digging tool. This coil dates back to 1992 just like the Eagle Spectrum.

(2) A small portion of the top layer of skin on my left index finger had been sacrified to the MD'ing God due to all the day's digging not to mention the soreness of my legs and arms but that didn't stop me from going to Pechanga Indian Casino later in the evening to enjoy a schooner of Pechanga Amber and a pint of Pyramid Heffenweizen.

My gratutious fortune continued and my luck continued as I hit three wild cherries on a quarter slot machine after 2 hours and brought home $200.00 in cash...A decent day's turn of events indeed! Didn't get home until 12 midnight. What a long day. Needless to say I crashed HARD!

List of managed items include:

121 clad count (only 56 away from the magic 1,000 for the year), silver heart pendant, kids ring, Gold plated Monkey, 1993 Irvine California Soccer pin, 2 wheat backs and...a Canadian cent.

The Canadian cent is significant to me because it represents a streak going back five consecutive digs where I have found Philipine, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Euro cent and now Canadian. What will be next? An English hammered silver? The dream continues...

PS: The 44-s came from change this week and it struck me odd that someone took the effort to clean it.

Well.. Enough jawboning... here are the pics...

awesome finds, so sorry about the coil and the fingers. Woe is us for the never ending hardships us MD's endure.

congratulations on your milestone. You may want to try a healthy dose of J B Weld on that broken coil. I used it on my CZ20 coil and does great, even in the water . HH Gayle

Good hunting, tough luck with the coil,I concur J.B.Weld is an awesome product and Im sure would cure your current woes. I was curious if your coil had a coil cover on it? That is blue or is that the color of the bottome of the coil? I believe you could buy a coil cover and JBWeld it over the broken area and give the damaged area a lot more protection. Im seriously thinking on getting a Lesch,Im so-so satisfied with my current dig tool the drawbacks are it isnt very sharp though I could sharpen it,the serated edges wont cut through roots to save a mans life and the most annoying is the handle grip is starting to get a tear in it and evenutally it will break through from pushing down on the grip, though I can get a bicycle grip I suppose. Are the Lesch tools the answer to all my problems? Or does the grip tear through on all the diggers?...Shoot

Cool finds, did the girl give you her phone number? She was a great find too. ;)

Great story very enjoyable! :) Also good work on joining the 100 coin club! ;)

Great finds, and congrats on the sweet clad total!
It is unfortunate what happened to your detector
but I had never seen the inside of a coin so that was pretty cool.
I hope you get er fixed soon and protected from the elements well.
Grats also on the good luck at the slots, very cool!

Smiles!

Quite a collection. RP finds.

is that 44s zinc cant tell if it is read this The 1944S cent in zinc-coated steel (wartime composition for the 1943 cent) is another unique coin. It has been sold several times, since it was discovered around 1958 and is currently in private hands and valued at about $40,000and if it is WOW :o

Man, you gotta slow down and smell the Rosies. :D

Diggin so fast and furious you're throwin Lesches and hackin fingers? Kick back and relax. You'll burn out! This is for fun; not a profession or contest. ;)

You're gonna scramble into an underground power cable before you realize it at this current frenzy! Lay off the caffeine maybe, too. 8)

May your Coil rest in peace!!!
