Hello all!

I had a blast today... Was slightly cooler than yesterday and I went to the same spot I was working yesterday...

Bottle... Fliped my plug on a target and was suprised to see this there...

This Sterling Utensil Top can up as a 12/47 @ 6" and I just knew it was a SIlver quarter... I was wrong...

This metal was deep @ 8" and was a nice find... I thought it was a dog tag at first then I saw the bikes and the 1922 date...

1923 Mercury Dime

This button came up in the 7-8" range and the back was in many pieces...

This Token is HUGE! It makes a large copper seem small and it has decent wieght as well...

Looks like it was from a fund raiser for a hospital in 1924...

This Sterling Silver Spoon is Fancy and pretty neat with the 1902 Pat date on it...

Wow, you are tearing up the old silverware. I love those old pieces.

The company that manufactured your spoon was called the Whiting Manufacturing Co. I even found your exact spoon listed. Have a look at the link below. First one has some company info, second link has the patterns page with your spoon.

Are there any marks on the other piece? Am I seeing it right - does it look like the handle of a utensil that was broken? If so are there any identifying marks on it?

Great research and ID! Nope it is not a broken handle all complete, just a little bent..and those are all of the markings... But I can't seem to match up the dating symbol... Can you?

Awesome dig on that "lily" spoon. My wife collects silverware, and would probably lose consciousness over a find like that. congrats.

It looks to me as if the markings on that handle are post production. Someone personally engraved the initials of the owner and the marking below. A makers mark, if any is present, would likely be on the other side. Since you say that side is void of marks it is probable the mark was lower down and lost. I guess you are just going to have to go find the other half so we can solve this mystery!
