Spent just a few hours detecting our 1800s field today. I decided to go a lot slower than normal since it is so junked with iron. I was too lazy to switch out the coils so I just went with the standard 8.5x11. The ground was still moist below the first inch due to all of the rain we had last week. First I found a round ball, then my next signal turned out to be my first true gold find, not counting my gold plated ring I found last year. I found a nice Good Year 5 year service lapel pin. It has 14k stamped on the back. I went on to find two buttons, a rivet from Carr Fast. Co circa 1912-1929, a possible screwdriver, a small bell shaped mystery item, and part of a sharpening stone. I'm very excited that I finally found gold and something unique at that! Thanks for looking and HH!
