Hi guys, been searching a farm field for a couple years that used to be part of a town in the early to late 1800's.
I had never found silver, the area wasn't a wealthy one but I figured there has to be a few drops.
Well this fall the farmer plowed again so I have been busy these past warm days. I finally found my silver! An 1849 seated liberty and a 1851 3 cent piece, (a first for me).
Sadly neither coin is an O mint mark.
I didn't know a 3 center was so small. I thought I found a small decoration or Chinese coin. As is my practice, I didn't clean it until I got home so I wouldn't scratch it.
It isn't a rare coin, but it is in good shape for being plowed for many years. This is my second half dime and both have a hole punched in them.
Anyhow, I was a bit happy when I discovered what I had so I needed to share, thanks for looking.
