After work I headed back to a site next to the site I dug my Talbot,Allum & Lee New York condor token and the CT copper yesterday.Dug quite a few square nails around the lip of the hole and a suspender buckle. About 5 feet from the edge of cellar up against a small tree sapling I got a 78 VDI. Expecting a old bottle cap at 2 inches I flip the plug and stuck in the bottom of the plug I see a 1749 Spanish silver pillar real staring at me.My 1st pillar Spanish ever. Gotta love this hobby!

What a gorgeous coin!!! Great recovery and congrats!

Looks like you got two good sites and they are close together too. I would be on it as I am sure you will be.Great finds!

It's a great looking coin. So many of those silvers are wiped almost clean from wear, showing they were in circulation a long, long time. Yours was lost within 50 years of it's making for it to retain that much detail.

You're on a roll!! Congrats for finding a personal first-very nice silver.

You are on fire!!!! :blob8:

Beautiful early colonial silver. Congratulations!

Wow. What a great looking coin! So clean looking. It always amazes me how some stuff sinks, and others dont.

That's one pretty coin, congrats!

Congrats on the great looking silver & buckle, both are sweet keepers.

Super find ! Great detail for its age. Congrats and HH

Beautiful coin. Love it congrats!

Beautiful coin and nice old buckle, congratulations!

Sweet Spanish silver

Wow! It's in great shape! Congrats!

These 1749 coins were shipped over directly from the mint to our shores as payment for helping out the British. I have a lot of 1749s in great condition. My nicest Spanish is that exact same coin you just found. Congrats on that beauty bud

Excellent find. It’s been quite a while since I dug a pillar real. Whatta beauty! Congrats
