Had a few hours in one of my favorite fields on MV, it rarely fails to give up something of interest. The silver coin was a clean sold hit at about 9inches, not in great shape ,but always love any Spanish silver. The buttons were not far from each other and were both at only 5 inches. If anybody can ID them I would appreciate it. Gotta love this warm weather in the northeast !!!!!!

Wow. Really liking that English crown CUSTOMS button. The other stuff is great too.

Mmmmm, thems pretty digs. I can't provide any more info on the buttons, but nice going!

Is the backmark from the Customs button or the US Federal Navy officers button? Navy button dates 1810's to 1830's. G&W Boggett in business from 1824 - 1861 in London. Customs button might be Canadian Customs Service...? Is there any lettering just above the Crown? Like VR?

Thanks,, the pic of the button ( back side ) is the "customs" button . The site would let me load more pics, the navy button is less readable.

My kind of hunt right there. I love any hunt that produces Spanish silver. Come to think of it....its been quite some time. Great buttons too bud

Pretty sure that Customs 'Crown' is pre-Victorian, so narrows the date to 1824-1837. G & W narrows it again to 1835-37.
