$178 in CWR's

I was dumping halves at the coinstar at my bank when someone walked in to cash in $178 in rolls. $100-quarters $60-dimes $16-nickels $2-pennies. The lady was thrilled that I was buying them as was the teller. Better yet, she said it was her father's change he rolled for her kids. Hope he left some oldies in there. Searching after work, will post results. HH!

I was too excited for the haunt so I left work early. Also picked up a box of pennies and a box of half dollars on the way home will post all results later.

Have plenty of paid leave so getting paid to hunt. Pretty much skunked on CWR. Took the copper, got a United Arab Emirates coin and a 1968-D 40% and 1987 proof from halves. Proof was an ender. LOTS of copper in the penny box. Only 7 wheats though. Oldest wheat 1925.

Oh yea, and there was a dime in one of the penny rolls, always nice. Thought the UAE coin was a silver quarter for sure. I think I am going to go try to get another box of halves. I haven't gotten my fix yet...

Got a box of dimes and another box of pennies. Skunked on the dimes and it sure has been a long time since I got an Indian Head...

What years does the S indicate it is a proof for pennies?

After 1974 I believe. 1968-1974 was the last big burst of business strike S cents.

Proof sets with S mintmarks began in 1968, but anything after 74 and you've definitely got a proof.
