17th Century Button on the Beach

The beaches around here finally opened up at the beginning of May this year after the renourishment in the winter months and the Coronavirus shutdowns. I was able to find a few nice pieces of silver jewelry, a gold ring and a 17th century pewter button (must have been dredged during the renourishment). It has been a tough start for gold with the new sand, but it will get better as the summer progresses. Yeah, I figured late 17th to early 18th century. To me it was more exciting to find than a gold ring on the beach. Thanks

Excellent hunt. The gold ring is a great. Your button is probably early 19th century. An usual find nonetheless on our sandy shores.
