I have found that the AR stands for Arrezo Italy. Now to figure out the 72.
 

I have found that the AR stands for Arrezo Italy. Now to figure out the 72.

Italian gold jewelry requires a makers mark of the city (2 letters) and the registration number of the manufacturer.

So as you figured out AR is Arrezo and the 72 would be the 72nd registered manufacturer of gold jewelry with that city.
