1800’s Copper coins/buttons, stagecoach rest area, hose fittings 🤷🏻‍♂️ few

Found what appear to be two hose fittings 🤷🏻‍♂️ a few days ago at a 1840’s homesite. They are two piece. If anyone knows for sure and also knows how old they are let me know.

In addition, a few copper coins, buttons, and possibly a stagecoast rest stop area.

If anyone knowns for sure what the wood structure is called let me know.

Looks like hose fittings off an old soda-acid fire extinguisher. Mid 20th C.

Great finds, just the kinds of places I like to hunt!.....The last coin in your row of 4 appears to be a Liberty Capped large Cent, 1793-1796.....I have found over 200 Large Cents, never found a Liberty Capped ......very, very nice hunt, congrats!

Those hitching post sites can have alot of relics. There may be a few bridle rosettes and other relics in the area. I found a similar site last spring and like you ,I was able to uncover several coins as well as a hitching post ring very much like yours. If the area is not too trashy, dig low conductive signals that you normally would not dig. Nice hunt and also a good posting of photos.

Hitching rail, maybe? Post is usually a single post for one horse. The rail could hold several.

Another thought: The wood in the structure looks like it was originally used for transmission poles. In the photo with the ring there are what appear to be linesman's climbing spike holes and in the last photo there is a flat place where a plate or crossarm was bolted on.

Love the coin finds! I don't think they have anything to do with the hitching post, though, age-wise. The "hitching post" appears to be constructed by re-purposing a used power pole ( note the cut-out where a reinforced bolt used to be ). The notch to fit the logs together was cut with a chainsaw. So, mid 20th century or newer?
