1812 Classic Head Cellar Hole Hunt

Found some new sites with Dave [Heavymetalnut] out of three sites i ended up with this 1812 Classic Head i think its a large date,i almost didnt dig it,my first signal was nickle/ring really ify,i took off about 2 inches it jumped to penny/dime, i was really suprized to see a classic head.

What do you mean you almost didn't dig it? Just a nickle reading? I dig everything from 0 VDI on up. I've dug many nice buttons with readings just above 0 VDI. Nice coin by the way.

not diggin a nickel signal at a cellar hole?... :'( Nice classic head...haven't been able to find the classic head variety yet.
 
Nice one. I dig all non ferrous sounds. It pays off when you are hunting an old site. :thumbsup:

At Colonial sites, you should dig everything that beeps on the positive side. A nickel reading could be part of a Colonial shoe buckle, a tombac button, a USA continental army button, or a counterfeit Colonial copper. :dontknow: If the site screams 1700s, I get excited over a "Nickel" reading. :icon_thumleft:

How are you Sniffy,hows the detecting going,i usually do dig nickle/ring but this one was jumping to iron i glad i dug this one.

Just got back from West Virginia...havent' been out for awhile...Looks like you've been havin some fun...nice batwings by the way.
