1812 Classic Head Cellar Hole Hunt

Found some new sites with Dave [Heavymetalnut] out of three sites i ended up with this 1812 Classic Head i think its a large date,i almost didnt dig it,my first signal was nickle/ring really ify,i took off about 2 inches it jumped to penny/dime, i was really suprized to see a classic head.

What do you mean you almost didn't dig it? Just a nickle reading? I dig everything from 0 VDI on up. I've dug many nice buttons with readings just above 0 VDI. Nice coin by the way.

At Colonial sites, you should dig everything that beeps on the positive side. A nickel reading could be part of a Colonial shoe buckle, a tombac button, a USA continental army button, or a counterfeit Colonial copper. If the site screams 1700s, I get excited over a "Nickel" reading.
