Yesterday I found an 1816 Korean Choson Dynasty 1 mun coin from the Kaesong mint. Also made a very weird find. I found a brass plague in the same hole with 20+ marbles. Perhaps it was an offering. I found these items on a mountain near my house. Last week on base, I found a 1910-45 Japanese Samurai Sword washer known as a seppa and a Sterling silver earring.

Nice finds Jeff Congrats! How did the coin read on your E-TRAC?

Nice finds Jeff Congrats! How did the coin read on your E-TRAC?

The Korean coin read just below zinc penny range 12-28. Most Square hole cash coins (Chinese, Korean and Japanese square hole) read between pulltab and zinc penny.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very cool especially the piece of a samurai sword!!! Thanks for sharing!

I believe the brass plaque is actually a token commemorative of a YMCA event held on February 21, 1992. The inner image has been the logo of the YMCA (since 1896) and remains so today. It is often referred to as the "JOHN1721" logo. (note the word 'JOHN'). Sure, the token could have been used as an offering.
Great finds !!
Don......
