Pulled out the old maps today for a quick hunt. The map showed where an early 1800’s homesite once stood. So I started detecting the area where I thought the house once was. 20 minutes into the hunt and I had one on the line. The soil was very muddy and very rocky. Ended up pulling this 1827 Capped Bust Dime with pointed top today.
Not sure how but something lightly scratched the bust side of the coin. Either way, It’s my first and a definite bucket lister.
Also found this rough looking Matron Head copper.
Enjoy!
