First post...long time lurker. O.o got my first detector (Fisher F2) last month after lots of research, mostly on this site. Thanks!! I was waiting for something cool to post and it didn't take long. Out today in a local park a few blocks from my house. This park recently had a makeover and all of the cool dangerous toys were replaced by safer modern ones. Detecting around the outside produced this 181 year old coin! That's older than my state! It's pretty hosed but still kinda neat and in such a strange location. Twas right near the surface on a slight hill so I'm thinking backfill. Neato!
Also, accounting for inflation, what would 2 Pfennig buy you in 1832?

Back in 1832, it would probably buy an egg or two! Add 23 Pfennig to that and maybe a Bratwurst. Now you have went and done it, I am now craving a good old German Bratwurst and Licher Bier!

Cool find, maybe it came with a early settlor to your area. Might be interesting to tie the coin to somebody. A lot of parks used to be farms and should be easy to trace it back.
