1834 Large Cent... my oldest coin so far

I found this coin in my aunt's backyard. The only other coins found here were clad and a couple of wheaties. This area of Oklahoma wasn't opened up to settlers untill 1893 (Oklahoma Territory).

I don't know how it got there, but I am sure glad that it was.

You're my hero! I'm workin hard to find my first large cent in Michigan. So far this year I dug two Canadian large cents (1900, 1916) but I'm still looking for the big US red.

I'll bet the other OKIE's are proud of you.

Yes, now I will have to find something older. If I look in the mirror, it would be a close call

That has been my only large cent. I have found one half-dime, I will post it soon.
Still no gold, halves or silver dollars.... but I'll keep looking.
