Congrats on a great find - post a pic of it if you can. Be careful on the cleaning. If it's not a key date, a little baking soda mixed with water will remove tarnish, but the collectors like them uncleaned. Don't know about the value.

Welcome to T-net and congrats on your find. The easiest way for those who know their coins is to see a picture. I agree with DougF, don't clean it up yet, it may lose value.

2005 Book Price (not sale price):
F- £15

EF- £175

Why does it need cleaning? What has it got on it?

Appears to be a good find...now it needs to be evaluated...

As to cleaning...maybe water and a soft cloth...

Listen carefully to the experts that have responded above

lots of way, but I think it will make it look cleaned/polished. I prefer to leave it as it, kinda proof you dug it. Lots of people on here will give many different ways to clean it & its down to you to find out what your happy/confortable doing. I'm not saying not to clean it, only that I don't bother.
