1850's Chinese Camp + two first!!!!
Still trying to find the old railroad station location in a little town called
Minturn, the station itself was moved from there to Chowchilla in the 20's
closed in the 50's and the building moved to 5th street here in town some time later and is now the VFW hall.
well anyway you know how it is when you are doing stuff on the computer
the time just zips by before I knew it it was after 12midnight shut everything off and went to bed.
wokeup around 6:30 put coffee on waiting for it to get done, phone rings its
Paul (Old Californa) hay Joe you want to go to the Chinese camp with me and Fish-in-chips (Joe) well it took me all of about one half of a nanosecond to say yes.
Got there a little after 9 and they are just starting to hunt, so I grab my gear and walk to the fence well about five feet from the fence the grass is about a good
foot high look down and I see a snake about 3 or 4 foot long couldn't see its head or tail but I think its a rattler holy c^$# I think I did a Micheal Jackson all the way back to the road :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'll let Paul and Joe post there finds, it was a good hunt lots of square nails a bullet
casing I thought was a henry but it has a U not an H ? no cash coins this time but
I got two first in one coin an 1868 shield nickel YES!!!!!
finally into 1800"s
I got to say thanks Paul and Joe for a great day and hunt.
