Hey guys I need help getting an estimate on this coin for a sale from a private party. What do you guys estimate the value to be. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1534176478.379247.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1534176485.228257.webp

I would give $50 or $60 dollars for it ...

I would grade it XF40, but, cleaned. That to me would knock the price down a bit to maybe VF30 or 35. Your lighting may accentuate the scratches a bit more than they would otherwise look in more favorable light.

Very nice coin, as others have said...but heavily cleaned...and as Cuda said, that will affect price. I would be proud to own it..Good luck! Ddf.

Look in the Red Book.

They were asking to high for what you guys would value it to be.

Since we're on the above subject coin of Holt, is there a way he can reverse the CLEANED EFFECT of his coin, to a dirtier appearance? Put in soil for a few weeks, or ?

That’s a beautiful coin. Good luck.

It's called liver of Sulphur. Puts a patina on silver. Gary

You can do quite a few things such as artificially toning or using the above in hopes of toning down the appearance of the coin being cleaned but the evidence will still show. You would be just as well off to paint the coin Matte Black.

I agree, toned or not those scratches will still show.

IMO: Being cleaned about $ 60 - $ 75 dollars, still a very nice coin!
