1854 Seated Half

Sorry the pictures didn't come out too great. I have a difficult time getting good closeups on single coins.

Also found today but not pictured were $65 face 40%, $3 64's, and $1 each of franklins and walkers.. but yeah -- this one certainly made my day. A shame about the hole, it would probably make VF as the details are all really great (shield, liberty..). Mintmark area completely obliterated by the hole, but doesn't really matter anyway.

I beat my previous oldest by 58 years :P

I too found a holed coin today but it is at least 70 years younger. 61 Franklin.

Oops! I had thought the date was easier to read. Bah, digital cameras.

It's an 1854 seated half. With a big hole :P I got it in a bag with $888.50 of halves.

Unreal!!!! Finding a pre Civil War coin in circulation is a truly unusual find to say the least....

Wow....you found that while CRH'ing? The two Walkers and Franklins are sweet!!! Excellent job! That is a good haul on silver. I am curious too if these were from a box or loose rolls. Kudos.

Yeah, the pre civil war thing really got me too.

I honestly didn't think I would necessarily find another Barber, but this completely blew me away. Great results otherwise too, although pretty low 90% #s. After an unbelievable January, and a terrible February, this was a real treat.

wow thats awesome! and $65 face of 40%!!!! I hope my skunk streak ends here soon. I switched up my banks becasue I was getting my searched halfs. I am really hoping for a break this week. If I get skunked again I think I am going to cut back.

But I wonder if they have very many halves that you haven't searched yet.

We are only 3 1/2 months into the year and you've already searched 80 boxes!Any silver you find would almost have to be from halves that are being dumped currently in your area.You've searched all the rest!

That is incredible!Back when I could get boxes I could only go through 2 per week because I had to return all my rejects to 2 other banks and re-roll them.I couldn't return more than 1 box per week per my 2 dump banks.

80 boxes-unbelievable!And I thought thurmownator was going through a lot,already being well over 50 boxes this early in the year!

You guys are so lucky to have self serve coin counters-they don't exist near me.Again,good luck.

See if you can get both banks to order. Don't worry about getting your coins back. Today I opened a roll that had 15 of the 20 coins marked with two lines on the rim. The roll also had a 64 and two 40%. The rolling machine does not know what it is rolling. The more you open the more you find. From looking at your stats I would stay with the first bank. How long did it take to get the same coin back?
