From your photo it looks to be in good to very good condition according to the Red Book. Value....$ 25 - $30.

I can purchase these in that condition at auction for between $3.00-$7.00.

This is only the projected value year to year as deemed appropriate by The Red Book. As I have said in other posts.... No matter what the books say, you'll only get what others are willing to pay.

What do you think of the condition and value?

FYI, like large cents, 1857 Flying Eagle Cents had many varieties. Some are common, others are rare. You will need a specialty book on the cents. Here are the 1857 varieties:

1857 Varieties:
Obverse with clashmarks from a $20
Obverse with clashmarks from a Half Dollar
Reverse with clashmarks from a Quarter Dollar
Doubled Die Obverse
Repunched Date 1857/1857

If you can get them for that price ..in that condition..and that year...I'll take 100 of them

The Coin posted is worth between 30 and 40 dollars..A lot of them had a flat weak strike on the reverse.

I think flying eagle cent were the best cent design ever.......That is IMHO a high very good to weak fine on the obverse...reverse is good...Still a sweet coin

if that guy can buy flying eagles of this condition for 3-7 bucks all time........ then I will buy all you can get for 5-10 bucks each

I'd take a hundred also...seldom find anything on ebay or other auction sites for less that $20...
