186? Indian head question??????

I recently won a coin at the C.A.S.H bash in CT. its a 186? Indian head that is in almost perfect condition, It looks like a brand new penny but the last number looks real funny it looks like a 2 but all of the 1862 Indians I can find on line shows deep definition of the 2. It looks like its filled in or something. Is there a error or variant of this coin? I know there is something up with this coin but I cant find anything on it. I wish I could post a pic of it but I don't have a digital cam. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Back in the old days some coins were poor strikes, also it could be the coin was holed at one time and somebody filled it in.

Is the coin a fat one or a thin one? that can help tell if it is a copper-nickel type.
