1864 2 cent

Found this last night. At first I thought it was a green corroded quarter. After looking closely, the date says 1864. After a little wash to get dirt off, it's a 2 cent. Covered in green grit like crap. Any ideas how to clean it up?

0000 steel wool does wonders on 2centers.

Don't use it on all coins, but common date 2 centers ( as most dug ones are), its my go to choice.
