Made it out for a couple hours with the metal detector this afternoon and picked up a 1864 IH and a 1936 buffalo.

Too bad the IH is so rough looking, specially since we think it's the rarer version with the L.

Very nice coins!

Nice Indian. Looks in good shape to me. I got a 61 today near the same condition. HH!

My '64 indian came out of the ground bent, maybe even melted, crusted and corroded to death too. The '64 you found is in incredible condition, not as rough as you think. The buffalo was probably a nice surprise.

I have only found one Indian head in three years of detecting. I always been impressed with the condition of Indian head penny after being retrieved from the ground after so many years.

nice one!doesn't look like its in all that bad shape to me.I like them with them civil war period dates.good find on the buffalo too.

Very nice coins. The IHC looks good to me. Congrats.

Thanks guys!!
I thought the rim looked pretty rough looking, maybe it's just build up from laying in the ground. I think that's a scratch across the face too. The back side looks great.
My oldest found MDing before this one was a 1867 and not half as nice as this one. I always wanted to find a 63 or 64 so I was super happy to find this one. You have to wonder if a coin like this saw any action in the civil war? A lot of CW action took place around here.
