Normally coming home with 4 cents wouldnt be a good day, but not when one of the coins equals 2 cents.....and is dated 1865. I was scrambling to find a place to dig for a couple of hours, and ended up back at a house site that was torn down a few months ago. I'd found a couple of wheats and a really neat tax tag from 1892 on previous trips, but nothing as old as the 2 center. The coin is in really good shape for being imprisoned in the ground for well over 100 years probably

Nice find Missouri_John!

Nice find. The two centers are always nice to find. Always a surprise to see that "2" staring at you....

When i pulled it out of the plug, i was giddy because i thought i found another old trade token..........but it turned out to be better than that.

nice find, i found the exact same coin a year ago and it looks just as good as yours.

Nice find... Like seeing those being found and posted. Congrats :icon_thumright:

This was my first one, and in surprisingly good shape. What the pictures look like is pretty much how it came out of the ground, minus some light scrubbing with a soft toothbrush. I'm just happy this thing wasnt as putrid and corroded as the 1919 wheat i also dug..........so chalk that one up for good luck

for some reason the one i dug was equally as good of condition. I dug 7 large cents from the same site that were all corroded and boogered up. the 2 center held up awesome compared to them
