I went deep woods, hunted for about two and a half hours. My first Shield Nickel, I can't get a date, but at least it's "with rays"
Also found pieces of tableware, pocket watch, and padlock. They all were not complete. I found an keyhole cover, looks like to a piece of funiture. Tough hunt finding the cellar holes, I did two sites, first one was just off the road and I found a pile of iron someone piled up next to a tree. I was hoping to find sites no one knew about. At least they missed a Shield Nickel. I used my AT Pro because I knew it was going to be very ruff back there and didn't want to bang my new machine all up. I'll take the CTX 3030 back later when all the leaves are gone and brush is down.

Hope you enjoyed the pix

Just noticed that I forgot to show where whoever owned the pocket watch, they scratched in initials on it.

I like the cellar hole picture. Always a nice site to see one of those in the woods. Still looking for my first shield nickel. Haven't been able to cross that one off yet.

I'm thinking there should be more foundations there, need things to clear out, then I'll be able to see further.

I washed them, and that nickel tasted like bug spray!

Thanks park pirate

I bet he does the lake hunt when it's bath night George!
All kidding aside, the nickel cleaned up pretty nicely.....looks like you probably zapped it? Does the CTX's warranty card say you have to baby it lol.

It will wear off, I'm still in sticker shock.
I did the vinegar and salt soak, but zapped the other stuff

Nice score Treble! Cleaned up nicely

I have found some very nice stuff with that machine, you could have found that Shield with a propointer. Of course it would of been hard on the back. It will be interesting to see if the CTX sniffs out anything there when it gets colder. Sandy soil.

Nice digs brad, sounds like a nice old site

Nice site and nice digs

very cool finds

great shots of the cellar, congrats on the shield. was wondering if those dirty hands would clean up but I see that they did. pretty cool finds and the initials in the back of the watch add personality to it. you did pretty darn good with the pro and I too can't wait to see how the new machine does in there.

Good group of relics. Of course the nickel is cool. Thanks for sharing the photos of the cellar s well.

Sweet looking site ya got there! Hit that place hard in a few weeks.

Congrats on the shield nickel. I like the watch back too.

Don't worry about the CTX, they are really tough. When Smittyman (of TNet fame) is not looking, I often, by mistake, kick or step on his CTX, and so far no damage has occurred. The machine is immune to inadvertent Gatorade splashes too.

GL&HH!

Nice finds man. Did you find all your goodies inside the celler or were they peppered outside?

Nothing inside, was all out in the yard, peppered.
