Hey everyone! I don't post much but have had real good luck with Indian heads this past week. About a week ago I was hunting a new small honey hole I found at a local park. I popped an 1875 Indian and then a few flat buttons and then all of a sudden after digging a button swung my coil back over the hole. Beep - I almost missed it! I reached under a rock and carefully pulled out an Indian and was surprised and excited to see the nice date 1869! Then I go back last Saturday after dropping my wife off at work... third hole, flat button... fifth hole, a fatty! A thick 1860 Indian came out of the hole! After a few more buttons I left that site and went to a new place with a friend that he was trying out. Not much at first but then we found a small field that appeared hammered but there were some deep signals. Then I hear a "Woot!" My friend hit a 1925 Merc and then a V nickel and 5 minutes later another V nickel. Meanwhile I was just digging junk. Finally it was getting close to dusk and another deep signal and I finally had an Indian head. I showed it to my buddy and he was like "wow that one looks pretty" but stupidly I didn't take a picture of it. A half hour later I get back to the car and see 1... 8... x... 7. I couldn't get the third digit for the life of me so I drove home hoping but not really excited because I was sure i read it wrong. But I got home and read it again... and posted it to several groups, checking the style of the date. Turns out it was an 1877. And that made my day!
