Idk what I'm looking at I keep seeing coins that are nice going for pretty high. Is this coin anything special? The back of it looks exactly like the 79 that I have. But I wanted to ask you guys.
(I may be back with more. I bought a collection of coins and probably 35 of them are uncirculated)

BK... The coin is definitely an 1878-P "7 Tail Feathers, Reverse of 1879" Morgan Silver Dollar. It appears that it would grade out at MS-63 which is the general grade most of these Mint State coins receive but it could quite possibly get an MS-64 grade even with the rub marks and minor scratches on it. While PCGS values it at $275 or $475 depending upon what it grades at, don't expect much more than $200 or $400 due to it being a fairly common 1878 Morgan.

1878 Morgan Silver Dollar, 7 Tail Feathers, Reverse of 1879

Thanks! I'll take that over what I paid.

BK... Check out all of the Morgans for Die Clashing, Counter-Die Clashing and Die Cracks as some may be VAMs (Van Allen Mallis Varieties). If you happened to have purchased any with VAMs that are on the Top 100 List, you could make out pretty good on resell but if you have some on the Top 10 List, you could make out like a fat rat! Back when I cherrypicked Coin Dealer's Morgan Silver Dollars for VAMs, I was able to purchase some raw MS-63 coins for $20 to $25 each and resold some for $100 to $150 each. Keep in mind that some VAMs are so rare, that in Mint State grades, they can fetch upwards of $10,000 or more.

ahhh a nice cleaned coin!

?? Where do you see a cleaned coin? If BK's coin has been cleaned or should I say "Dipped", I don't really see it as the coin still has most of it's Mint Luster and has toning on it. Remember that pics of coins often show things that are not there and also often hide things that are there.

I agree with Frank. I'm seeing original luster and no signs of a cleaning.

Just for fun I'll add some more. I don't think they are cleaned.

I didn't remove the plastic covers either and there is probably 15 more not pictured.

Also, put this into perspective. The lady said she took 8x to 10x more then what I bought from her to the coin store the day before. I paid her $700 more then they did. [emoji15]

It is sad that many Coin Stores rip off old folks and especially old ladies! It is also sad, that you were unable to possibly purchase the other Morgans before she took them to the Coin Store!

Upon looking at the pics that you posted, it appears that you may have a received a few PL (Proof Like) and possibly DMPL (Deep Mirror Proof Like) examples which generally fetch much higher prices than mere Mint State examples.
