Re: The story of the lost indian.

Really nice finds diamondjim! I feel for your friend...I thought I lost a ring I had found and was pretty bummed...it was in a corner of my pouch, luckily.

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Not a story of trains wrecks and hillbillies ;)....but even better, Jimi. :D You received good karma for hunting for your friend's lost indian....and came up with those great large cents. Way to go! :)

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Congrats on the finds. These are the types of sites I like to hunt. No garbage no clad and everything is old and untouched.

Sorry to hear about the indian. I had a site that had about a 100 indians. My partners would drop them not knowing and I would find them on the surface. It's there could be on a tilt in some leaves or branches.

It will show up in time again.

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Really enjoy the pics Jim, I'm in awe of your site. Those are wonderful finds, congrats on that large cent. I'm finding the indians but I sooo badly want to find a large penny.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Hey Dj.....Those are some nice large cents..Congrats ...I see that place was a site that has been used for some time ...Plenty of relics and buttons , but lets hope that lost Indian was not an 1877 ....It might just be worth going back and trying to find that bad boy!!!!! Thanks for the pics....!

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Really nice finds and a great layout of your other finds. Keep at it and may there be both silver and gold in your future!

Re: The story of the lost indian.

NIce finds DiamondJim, mmmmmmmmmmmm wonder where that is in OHio HaHa.
mmmmmmmm I must start keeping all my shotgun shells. Heck I could start a collection
of those darn things. In the water I find them all the time, even ones that haven't been
fired, those are always a special treat to pick up.

Again Great Finds. A large Penny is always a great find, I have never found one that old,
most of the ones around me are in the 1857 area. Keep hunting the Indians are there, and like you
I try to dig all the signals. I bet if you keep doing that you will not only find an Indian, you find
a GOLD COIN. What a thought HUH?

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Looks like you have a good site there. I would walk right over that hole and never know that something was there. Thanks for the lesson!

Re: The story of the lost indian.

Ahh. Was waiting for this post. Very NICE! Actually, It was good your friend dropped his indian or you might not have found the other large cent. Well at least bittersweet. That one large cent is in great condition. Hope to find a spot like that at least once in my lifetime.
