New Pics: 1880s house again, this time only clad.....then heck ya!

So the 1880s farm house property had sold some of the land off into a smaller second lot behind it back in the 1950s. The home owner was kind enough to introduce me to owner of this smaller property. After going through the front yard and only founding a handful of clad and a toothpaste tube, I hit the old clothesline.

Despite being sick of pennies, I dug up a wheatie. 1940s but heading in the right direction. Then I hit a zincoln vdi.... It was a little shallow but it was the backyard of an 1880s house..... Could be another indian head....what the heck one more zincoln couldn't hurt.

Saw metal in the plug and pulling it out noticed an odd shape. Cleaning makes it turn into a horse head. Maybe a key fob.... No there's lettering. Then I see "good for 2 1/2 cents in trade" in trade". Freaking sweet!

After cleaning it, more words appear...."Rosen Bar" and Dallas. Finally! I found a bar trade token.

Now with better photos:

Found it in the token catalog:
ROSEN BAR / 316 / S. ERVAY / DALLAS (TC-93589) Dallas, Texas (Dallas County), U.S.A.

Any idea how old it is? Any ideas on history of the bar? Any idea how to clean it better without destroying it? I've heard it's rare. While priceless to me (I'm keeping it), any idea of the value?

That is one of the coolest tokens I have ever seen. Great find

That is awesome.

That is a freaking awesome token! Sweet find!

Nice token, very unique.

Sweetest token I've seen posted in a good while !!

Please, please can we get a better close up?
Killer token, only dream of finding a token in that shape.
Tokencatalog saying that it's a rare one, (extremely rare in better condition), is icing on the cake.
Be gentle in the cleaning, aluminum is really fickle, but I would at least try to shine it up a little.
Too much cleaning will open and reopen up pits on the surface.

How would a guy clean it? I used a very soft brush under running water and the dirt still wouldn't come off very well. Soaked it in lime juice for maybe three minutes then again gently brushed under the faucet. I'll see if I can get better pictures later today.

The odd part of it all is I found it in Iowa. One wonders about the tale it could tell.

Found in Iowa??? WOW that token is rare to find in Dallas.
Very nice.

Love the old tokens, but that particular one is a special find! I would be estatic to have that in my treasure box. Congrats!

Pretty sweet token. That would make my day. Congrats!

Tokens are the best, nice find, be careful cleaning that, aluminum is very weird to clean.

Thanks for the insight everyone. I posted some additional pictures in the original post. Took forever to find the camera, then the battery charger, then take the pictures.... I'm getting better at procrastination.....
