I went back to the same lot i found a 1900 Barber half and a 1917-S Walker at in the same hole yesterday, but didnt come up with any more silver. I did dig up an 1884 V Nickle that wont be winning any beauty contests any time soon, and 3 more marbles

Nice finds, congrats!

I wouldn't mind finding that 1884 V nickel! Looks to be in pretty good shape, but would like to see a close-up of front and rear if you don't mind. Try soaking it in extra virgin olive oil for a week - might see a world of change in the quality.

the other side is just as butt ugly as the frontIMG_0709.webp

What looks "butt ugly" now may change after judicious soaking in olive oil. Give it a try! What have you got to loose? BTW, my old 2006 Coin Digest prices lists an 1884 V nickel in good condition as worth $17.50. Maybe not to sought-after 1885 or 1886, but not too shabby, either.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!! Cool find :icon_thumright:
