👁1897-S Barber Quarter👁 Today's finds

So I went to a new location this morning hoping to beat the heat! We are preparing for over 100° today and I don't like to roast hunting! Got about three hours in at a 1865 church.
I found my second silver today! It's so weird I go over a year without any silver and loads of clad coins and find two silvers within a week!! Any who about three inches down was this 1897 Barber right next to a clad change spill 2 Quarters, dime and a penny! Also in the same hole was this weird reel deal with gears? If any one knows what it is please enlighten me!
I also found this star pin, if any one knows what it is please enlighten me!

I also finally figured out how to upload a picture to this site right side up lol! Maybe because I have IOS...

Thanks for looking HH :hello:

Great quarter; maybe a fraternity pin.

Another beauty. Congrats!

Nice quarter and the other object appears to be a small clock movement. Probably an old alarm clock.

Nice Barber! Congrats!!!

Pin looks a lot like a Blue Star Service lapel pin, except it should have a red border. Older variety maybe? Nice finds, always love to find a Barber.

Glad to read that you have been kicking butt on your silver drought! I found my first Barber quarter not too long ago, and it was a sweet, sweet feeling! Congratulations, and good luck on your future hunts.

Love the Barber. Wish we still made coins that beautiful.

Hello SOH. It's always nice to see the Barber...thanks for the post and Good luck out there. C9

Yeah that's what I'm thinking I cannot find nothing about it just the typical Bluestar white field red border? Not sure. HH

You are on a hell of a hot streak right now. Congrats!!

Nice finds! Cool Barber quarter!! Congrats and HH

It looks like a blue star service pin.

Great recoveries! Barbers are always a nice addition to the pouch.

Your lapel pin looks vintage WWII for a Son or Daughter in the military service.
I have one similar (with a red border) that belonged to my grandmother's cousin (WWI)

Tell me your secret on posting pics right side up. I still having figured it out. Nice finds by the way!

Hey welcome and thanks for the reply but The blue Star Service pin has a red border. I did a little research on the clasp and a C clasp originally dated from around the 1890s up until early 1900's. But that's all I found I wish I knew! HH

Nice silver number 2 and another one bites the dust from the Bucket List. Keep mowing them down buddy.:headbang:

Sweet barber! Broke into the 1800s even!
