I picked up 2 bags of jewlery today for $25 each

The big find so far is this 18k 7 gram necklace. The clasp was broken. And not original (corrosion). So they must not have given it a second look. But the didn't read the small hang tag marked 750.

$225 scrap value

I have a couple more pieces that are possible gold and silver. Need to test when I get home. And I will post the rest of the results. But here is a pic of the necklace to hold you over. You can blindly see the clasp doesn't belong on this necklace lol

Great find! I gotta try the thrift stores....

Add this mystery bracelet in to the finds

Passed the hot needle test. Not sure if ivory or shell or another type of bone. Any guesses

Get out your magnifying glass. Depending on the Ivory ( Elephant, Rhino etc.) the ivory will have different cross weave patterns. Like Elephant is "x" pattern??? I cant remember, been a while since i've looked at some. but I remember looking through a loupe and being able to instantly see a pattern on the ivory. Cool finds!

Just found a 2 gram broken 14k chain as well. Kinda tired. Will have to finish checking the rest tomorrow

Here is a closer pic. 30x mag with a clip on iPhone microscope
