Hello All. Dug this site with Btoots...one we have hunted many times for lots of good items spanning the 1850's to 1950's.

Found a bottle pit a few days ago that gave up (5) nice beer bottles but had leave before we got everything. Went back and dug (15) more. Some have marks as shown and some are blank.

There must have been (20) more of the same bottle type in the hole that were broken. Except for an old lantern part that is all there was...kinda weird huh?

Thanks for the view and Good Luck. C9

..: NICE FINDS C9 :..
Thanks for sharing!

Very impressive.

most of what I find are broken pieces

Very nice. I always like the bottles.

The big AB stands for Adolphus Busch, not sure on the others.

Hello niffler. You are correct. I think the A. B. CO. is also Adolphus Busch. The S. B. & G. clear bottle is Streator Bottle & Glass Co. and the W. F. & S. one is William Frazen & Son Glass Co. The dark green ones have no engraving or mold parting lines on them and their vintage and manufacturer remain a mystery

All look to be fairly common beer bottles from the 1890's to 1920's...not rare but great fun to discover and excavate. The entire lot will go in my growing bottle coolection.

Thanks for the reply and Good Luck. C9

I have been a treasure hunter long before I ever got into metal detecting. As a kid growing up I would be bringing home stuff from local city dumps and mainly bottles. You got some very nice ones there mate. Thanks for recovering some fragile history and giving us a peek.
