Found these at the 1700s house image.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webp. Anyone know how to get the red out of the nickel when it's wet I can see a lot of detail but red stuff is covering it

I am afraid you may have to live with the red. Nickels are pretty fragile. I have a medicine bottle full of red buffalos. Pretty much just the way it is. Of course someone may have a method out there somewhere.

Congrats on those finds. :occasion14: I can see you are a person of few words, so I will end my comments now.

Thanks for the congratulations ! Much appreciated !!

Are some finds, you might try letting the nickel sit in mineral oil for a day or two to soften any residual dirt.
I tend to do this with most of my non-silver, it helps bring out the details and preserve the coins.

Thanks Icewing I'll give it a try !

Congratz! Nice coins. I hope you are able to clean the nickel up some.

Congratualtions on the coin and relic finds! :occasion14:
