Hi,
I found a clear Owens-Illinois bottle at an old farmhouse site in Wisconsin. The bottle is 8" high and 2.5" at its widest point. The lower half is octagonal. The writing on the bottom is: "12 O/I (symbol) 5" along the top half. It looks like there is a "1" printed beneath the "5". "Duraglas" is cursive beneath that, and "E1643" below that. I would like to know if the "5" suggest the year (maybe the "1" beneath suggests 1915?), the possible value and history of the bottle use. Thank you for your help.

Matt

Hi,
I figured out the #5. It stands for the most right number of the year it was made. It was made in 1945.

Looks like the old catsup bottles Mom used to buy when I was a kid. JIM
