It doesn't look out of the ordinary to me, off hand, for a very worn penny. If you are saying the tips of the wheat stalks protrude out 90 degrees from the back of the coin then we can't make a good determination based on this pic. In any case, it could be the result of some abnormal wear and I doubt it's anything to get excited about.
