First very interesting find on July 4, 2019.
This medal was dug about 4inch down off a good hit sound. didn't know what it was til cleaned dirt off. I have done many hours of research on this and cannot find another picture of coin on line.
This was a champion player at the time and era.
i'm slowly trying to reach chess world to possibly add into a chess museum .
My knowledge of this type of chess has grown and very interesting. 20190722_122731.webp20190722_122700(1).webp

Nice find rtransitrat513. Thanks for sharing...

That's a great find. To have the winners name and the year on the back, make it even better.

You might try contacting the White Library in Cleveland, OH. They have the largest collection of chess memorabilia.

That is a really cool find! Thanks for sharing!

Can you imagine playing chess via snail mail? Nice find!
