My first one. Found it on a sidewalk tearout. Friend of mine was the forman , so I asked him if I could sweep it real quick. He said not a problem.

Very Nice!!! Congrats !!!

Nice condition.

Excellent coin and way to work it.

Way to go, congrats! :occasion14:

That's a good catch!

Congrats on that beauty you dug. I think the Newfoundland coins are extra cool. Wtg!

Why are there Newfoundland coins and Canadian coins? How is (was?) Newfoundland separate from Canada in 1917? Just curious. Gary

Very cool to see how your copper coin held up over the years. It hardly degraded at all. That sidewalk must have made all the difference.

It's .925 silver not copper.
And a very nice at that, congrats on the recovery.
What did the boss say?

31 March 1949

But the Confederation option won a run-off vote with 52.3 per cent support. The British and Canadian parliaments approved of the union. Newfoundland became Canada's 10th province on 31 March*1949.

Pretty cool coin

He said it was pretty neat. I told him to let me know the next time he tears out another sidewalk 😁

Awesome save and silver as well ....Good job getting in there.....Tommy

Sweet coin, not many minted coins with a silver content above 90 % Silver. Congratulations

Lol, pays to have a friend in charge of a site! Nice!
