1917 WALKING LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR

Found this coin out in the middle of the woods. No other targets anywhere around not even trash. It was a solid 90 on the ATPRO from every direction, it was 3 inches deep. I have no idea why this coin was where it was, no houses, no roads anywhere around. Your next question should be if nothing was around why was I detecting that spot. The reason I was detecting that area is because it was the only high/good ground in the area and looked like a good location to set up camp for troops passing by the area. I didn't find the Civil War Camp I was looking for but I did find my first Silver Half.

E Pluribus Unum

Thanks for looking

That's what I'm talkin bout. Good luck finding the camp.

Sweet!!

Still looking for my first...

Sweet coin!!! Some of our best finds were found while walking to places. Just in the middle of nowhere and BAM!!! Kinda cool when it happens, but on the other hand you spend the rest of the day searching all over and find nothing else........:BangHead:

It's a beaut!

terrific find!, cant wait for one of those to make its way under my coil!!

My friend and I have searched areas off in what some would call no mans land.but we found several old coins just looking for a good spot.

AWESOME FIND !!

Congrats on finding that sweet walking liberty :occasion14: She is still on my bucket list.

Wow! Nice coin. Found a '17 walker earlier in the year. Seems like they enjoy appearing where you least expect them!

Congrats on the BIG silver!

Steve

Very nice big silver. Congrats. I bet you had a surprised look on your face when that thing showed up.

Nice Walker.
Could be a few reasons it was there.
Mother nature called and it fell from the guy's trousers in his hurry to get them down.
A hunter could've been sitting there waiting for a deer to come by.
Could've been a farmer wiping his brow after working the field that may have been there 98 years ago.

I found some really old tree stumps. Looked like the trees my have been cut by hand. Could have come from loggers?

Nice "Oldie" Walking Liberty there !! A very fine first ! :occasion14: Most I've found out here in the past are 40s dated.

My fav looking coin
