1923 Peace Dollar

Hers the 1923 Peace Dollar I found a month ago. Is it normal for them to be this dark toned? Not shown is the reverse that is stained from the red clay it seems. Ive only dug this and the 1963 - 30 Drachmai coin. That one was pretty silver in the hole and 50' from where I found this... Whataya think?
