I got this at a yard sale in a small childproof pill bottle. The owner was using the pill bottle with the coins in it to scare his cat out of the kitchen. I looked this up in a 2007 standard catalog of world coins and it indicates it is a rare date. I can't find a single one for sale on line. Any Denmark experts? Any current value estimate? Thanks.

I found a site that mentions the coin as having a composition of aluminum-bronze, a weight of 6.5 grams, a diameter of 25.5 mm and a mintage of 999,000. What is odd thing about this is the fact the coin was noted as RARE. No pic nor value was given.

I see it listed as KM824.1 with a value of:
Fine=$135.00
Very Fine=$285.00
Extra Fine=$750.00
Uncirculated=$2000.00
This according to 9th ed. "Collecting World Coins."(2001)

Best,
Scott

What a nice and lucky find :thumbsup:

The value according to the newly issued danish "Siegs Coin Catalogue 2011" of a middle quality 1+ (VF) is
8750 danish Kroner ~ 1533.74 USD
Trading prices are almost always lower than the catalogue price,
but I wouldn´t be surprised if you could get $1000 for it. :hello:

Nice to see a rare coin from my country.
