Found this nickel along with two wheaties. Wheats were ‘40 & 41’. Is this a war nickel. I do not know enough about nickels. This came out of the ground clean as opposed to a 1978 nickel, which was black. Is it silver? Thx u for any help and info. 956D404C-8B0F-4C6D-AC15-1C913F9FB800.webpAAEFEB4F-9154-40E0-A294-E11A13887C84.webp

From mid 1942 through 1945 the nickels with a big mint mark above the dome are all 35% silver. There's P, D and S. (google is your friend!)

Congratulations on your first war nickel!

Thx u.
