Brand new to metal detecting and I found this 1968 dime with no mint mark. I have read conflicting reports about its worth. Is this just a Pennsylvania minted coin with no mint mark it a very valuable proof? Thanks for your input.

It's just a dime. No mint mark=Philadelphia, D=Denver, S=San Francisco, O=New Orleans, CC=Carson City. Good luck in the future, it's an addicting hobby!!

The Roosevelt dimes had no mint mark from 1965 to 1980, except in 1982, where there is a rare variation without a P mint mark.

I'm thinking you are a dime ahead.

424,470,000 were made as normal circulation dimes.
About a dozen, or so, are proof dimes mistakenly made without a mint mark.

If you found it at an auction or reliable dealer/collector, for $35,000, you may be on to something.
If you simply found one laying around, I'd go with it probably being one of the 424,470,000 common ones.

Take it to a coin dealer and determine if it is a proof coin, if you are uncertain.
