1975 Penny With State of Florida

Today at work I recieved a penny from 1975 with the state of Florida next to Lincolns face. Its gold looking. Anyone see something like this before?

Well, it's obviously not a government release. More likely than not, it's probably just a token for tourists

Nope ,, never seen a penny like that, and I am in florida. But I will give you $20 for any 1975 quarter you find.

I wonder why there were no quarters minted in 75

Because they minted the Bicentennial quarter in 1975 & 1976. Both the 1975 & 76 have the date 1776-1976, so you dont know what year the coin was actually minted.

In the past I have had gys look through big jars of quarters ... looking for a 1975 date

I have a handful of pennies with various states engraved on them; also a profile of JFK (the man, not the airport) and the Liberty Bell (the bell, not the space capsule). Used to find these in penny rolls, back in the 70's when I was gathering my collection of wheat pennies.
