1977 penny

This penny looks like it has the outline of another head.. not sure the line starts from the chin

The line from the chin, to across the chest does not resemble a head. Looks like an impact or a vise press. Pennies were sometimes used as spacers in machine shops because they were cheap. I have seen many odd designs as a result of use in these and similar shops. Could be another explanation, but a mint error is not one of them.

Time for more coffee.
