Found this 1982 penny today and from the pictures I thought it might be a double die error. Please take a look and let me know what you think, if its a valuable error and if how much more value does it add?? wp_ss_20171029_0025 (2).webpwp_ss_20171029_0024 (2).webpwp_ss_20171029_0022.webpwp_ss_20171029_0021.webpwp_ss_20171029_0018.webpwp_ss_20171029_0015 (2).webpWP_20171029_09_54_22_Pro (2).webpWP_20171029_09_54_38_Pro (2).webp

looks like a bit of Doubling.
Not sure how rare.

Hard to tell, I hate that year. They used the crap out of those dies so what looks like doubling could just be fat letters from worn dies! I'll wait for Frank to weigh in. For reference, the correct term is "doubled" die.

It appears that it may be a Double Die Obverse Variety! The O.P. eluded to a 1982 Zinc Cent (if in fact it is and not a Copper) when providing the link to a Double Die Reverse which I must say is not the same as the coin here. Copper Coins only lists one Double Die Variety for the Large Date Zinc 1982-P Cent which is a 1982P-1DO-003 (Coneca lists it as DDO-002) and which is a Class 6 Double Die. Coneca's site is currently being updated, so I can't check for any other Large Date Zinc 1982-P Cent DDO Varieties.

Come on Frank, you know it's "doubled"!

Yes, it appears to be a DDO due to the thickness on the Date and Lettering and I believe you can see light Split Serifs on part of the lettering in LIBERTY. However, I am unsure as to which Variety it could be! Copper Coins only lists the one Variety for a Large Date Zinc Cent, Coneca's website is down but Variety Vista lists three DDO's for the 1982-P Large Date Cent but they don't note whether they are Copper or Zinc. Also, without really close close-up pics, it is virtually impossible to find and match Die Markers.

I meant the term is "doubled" die Frank.
